Terms & Conditions
This document outlines the framework for functional nutrition/nutritional therapy services provided by Sara Indseth.
Functional Nutrition / Nutritional Therapy
Functional nutrition/nutritional therapy is a personalised, evidence-based approach to health that examines the complex relationship between diet, lifestyle, environment, and genetics to identify the underlying factors contributing to poor health. Functional nutrition/nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic or complex health concerns, as well as those looking to optimise their general health and wellbeing.
Sara Indseth considers each client as a unique individual and provides personalised nutrition and lifestyle strategies tailored to their specific biochemistry, health history, and goals. Functional nutrition/nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical advice. Sara will always refer any client with signs or symptoms requiring medical attention to their GP or appropriate medical professional, and will work alongside other healthcare professionals involved in a client's care where relevant. Sara may recommend food supplements and/or functional testing as part of your nutritional therapy programme and may receive a commission on these products or services.
The degree of benefit from functional nutrition/nutritional therapy may vary between individuals with similar health concerns following a similar programme.
Sara Indseth is not permitted to diagnose or claim to treat medical conditions. Functional nutrition/nutritional therapy advice is not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. Standards of professional practice are governed by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance.
This document only covers the practice of functional nutrition/nutritional therapy within this consultation, and Sara will make it clear if she intends to provide services that are outside the scope of this practice.
The client understands and agrees to the following:
-
I am responsible for consulting my GP or relevant medical professional about any health concerns.
-
If I am receiving treatment from a GP or any other medical provider, I will inform them of any nutritional strategy provided by Sara Indseth. This is necessary because of any possible reaction between medication and the nutritional programme.
-
It is important that I inform Sara Indseth of any medical diagnosis, medication, herbal medicine, or food supplements I am currently taking, as this may affect my nutrition programme.
-
If I am unclear about any aspect of my agreed nutrition programme, supplement recommendations, or testing, I will contact Sara Indseth promptly for clarification.
-
I understand that the advice provided is personal to me and may not be appropriate for others.
-
I must contact Sara Indseth before continuing any recommended supplement programme beyond the originally agreed period, to avoid any potential adverse reactions.
-
Recording consultations using any form of electronic media is not permitted without the written consent of both parties.
-
It is my responsibility to ensure I have a working internet connection for online appointments. If I am unable to connect as scheduled, the appointment will be considered a no-show and charged in full.
Sessions & Discovery Call
Sara offers a free 20-minute online discovery call for new clients to talk through their health concerns, answer questions, and identify the right programme or service. Discovery call bookings can be made via the website www.saraindseth.com.
You will discuss and agree the focus of your programme in your initial consultation, and review your progress and plan as your work together develops. Consultations and programme sessions take place online or in person, as agreed. Sara commits to starting and finishing each session on time. If you are late for a session, the time will not be made up at the end and the full fee for the allocated time slot will be charged.
It is your responsibility to have a working internet connection for all online sessions. You will be charged for scheduled online sessions if Sara is waiting for your call but you are unable to connect. If you are unable to join as scheduled, the appointment will be considered a no-show and charged in full.
Sara is available to clients by email or phone between scheduled sessions, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. You are welcome to make contact outside these hours and Sara will respond at the earliest opportunity within the above schedule, endeavouring to reply to all queries within 24 hours.
Before Your Initial Consultation
You will be asked to complete a detailed health and lifestyle questionnaire, including a 3-day food and drink diary, before your initial consultation. This must be submitted in advance of the session to allow adequate preparation time. Failure to submit the questionnaire may result in the need to reschedule your appointment.

Functional Testing
Sara may recommend functional testing as part of your nutrition programme. Testing is not always required, but where appropriate it can provide detailed, objective insight into your health that is not available through standard GP blood tests.
Tests available include, but are not limited to:
-
Gut Microbiome Analysis (stool testing)
-
SIBO Breath Testing
-
Comprehensive Hormone Panels (dried urine or saliva)
-
Thyroid Function Testing (blood)
-
Genetic Testing (blood spot)
-
Nutritional Status Testing (blood or urine)
-
Blood Sugar & Metabolic Markers (blood)
-
Organic Acids Testing (OAT) (urine)
-
Food Sensitivity Testing (IgG and IgA panels) (blood)
All tests are optional. Sara will explain the purpose of any recommended testing and how results will be used to inform your nutrition plan. The cost of functional tests is separate from your programme fees and is payable directly to the relevant third-party laboratory. Sara may receive a commission or referral fee from testing providers; you will be informed of this where applicable.
Test results are provided by the laboratory to Sara for interpretation and discussion with you. Functional testing does not constitute medical diagnosis and results should not be interpreted as such. Where results indicate the need for medical attention, Sara will advise you to consult your GP or appropriate medical professional. Turnaround times for results are determined by the laboratory and are outside Sara's control. Results will be shared with you as promptly as possible following receipt.

Except as expressly provided in this agreement, Sara Indseth makes no guarantees, representations, or warranties of any kind, express or implied, with respect to the functional nutrition/nutritional therapy services rendered.
In no event shall Sara Indseth be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages. Notwithstanding any damages the client may incur, Sara Indseth's entire liability under this agreement shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the client for services rendered through to and including the termination date.
